Ellen Page: X-Men return is awesome

Ellen Page has revealed she never thought she would reprise her X-Men role.

The Inception star returns as Kitty Pryde to the X-Men world in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which sees former cast members such as Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart and Halle Berry reunite on screen.

The film also stars newer X-Men actors such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.

"I didn't expect it, I didn't expect to play Kitty Pryde again. So when that came up and I met with Bryan, it was just awesome. I feel so grateful to be back," Ellen told Collider.

"I really did not know that long before we went to shoot. Combining the new cast with the old cast gives it an epic scope," she added.

Ellen's comeback was confirmed when the director tweeted a photo of her on set.

"He told me. I think it's a great way to give information to people. It lets people get involved," she explained.

The 26-year-old, who next stars in The East, confessed she wasn't initially a fan of the Marvel comics.

"To be perfectly honest, I was never really into comic books as a kid. So when the first X-Men popped up, it was the first time I read about Kitty Pryde and thought she was awesome and wanted to do it obviously," she added.
