Ewan McGregor has signed up to star in new romantic comedy Born To Be King, and Kate Hudson is in negotiations to play the female lead.
The mistaken identity caper was written by Peter Capaldi, star of The Thick Of It and In The Loop, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story centres around a film extra, played by Ewan, who bears an uncanny resemblance to a movie star, and a Hollywood starlet - the role Kate is talks to play - who can't stand the actor, but finds herself falling for the extra.
The film is due to start shooting in January at Pinewood Studios in the UK.
Capaldi won an Oscar for his short film Franz Kafka's It's A Wonderful Life in 1995.
