Exhibition fetes cream of Camden
Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch, Amy Winehouse and Agatha Christie are among the famous faces in a new exhibition celebrating the London borough of Camden.
The show features 30 portraits of people who have lived, worked or studied in the north London borough and also includes playwright Alan Bennett and sculptor Barbara Hepworth.
Schoolchildren from the area picked out the pictures that will feature in the show, called Creative Connections: Camden Radical Characters, at the National Portrait Gallery.
It is the third year the Central London gallery has worked with local schools to set up exhibitions.
Sunshine Coward, head of art at Haverstock School which took part this year, said it had been "a fantastic experience".
She said: "Our GCSE Art students enjoyed every moment - their confidence, skills and knowledge about photography, image making, portraiture and the professional art world having all increased significantly."
The exhibition is on until October 11.
