Farmiga, Wilson for Conjuring 2

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will be investigating more spooky goings on in a sequel to their film The Conjuring.

The pair played paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren in the first film last year and are now set to reprise the roles in a follow-up, reported Variety.

The sequel - which so far doesn't have a title - is due to be released on October 23, 2015.

The Conjuring, directed by James Wan, was based on the true-life story of the Perron family, who experienced increasingly disturbing events at their farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island in 1971.

It was a box office success when it was released last summer and movie bosses quickly commissioned a sequel.
