Farrelly brothers offer Dumb part

Dumb And Dumber fans could share the screen with Jim Carrey

The Farrelly brothers have launched a competition, where the lucky winners can get a walk-on role in the Dumb And Dumber sequel.

Bobby and Peter Farrelly, who are directing the follow-up Dumb And Dumber To, want fans to recreate a scene from the 1994 movie and post a clip on mobile app Vine.

The pair wrote on their Facebook page: "Alright, here are the contest rules for Winning A Walk-On On Dumb & Dumber To! First, make a Vine re-creating a scene from the original Dumb & Dumber, but put your own spin on it.

"Use the hashtag #DumbTo so we can see them all. (Yeah yeah, I know what a "hashtag" is now) You have until September 15, 2013 to post. After September 15, Bobby and I will pick the winner. The winner and a friend gets to be a walk-on on the film."

They added on Twitter: "And yeah, for those who can't stop, multiple entries are fine."

The winners would get the chance to share screen time with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, who are reprising their roles as hapless and dim-witted best friends Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne respectively.

Dumb And Dumber To, which is due to start shooting in mid-September, is expected to be released in summer 2014, to coincide with the first film's 20th anniversary.
