Michael Fassbender is to reunite with Steve McQueen on slave drama 12 Years A Slave.
Following their collaborations on Hunger and their sex addiction drama Shame, the X-Men: First Class star and the filmmaker are teaming up for a third movie together, reported Variety.
Based on Solomon Northup's 1853 autobiography, 12 Years A Slave, produced by Brad Pitt's company Plan B, will star Chiwetel Ejiofor as a man who is tricked into slavery, with Michael expected to play his liberator.
Filming is gearing up to kick off in early 2012.
Michael has said he is aspiring for a Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese-type relationship with director Steve, who gave his career a boost with a leading role in Hunger.
"When I was 17 and I started off doing this, my dream was to meet a director, and to have a relationship with a director, like Scorsese/De Niro, Lumet/Pacino," he said at the New York Film Festival.
"That would be the ultimate, to have a collaboration like that, and to be on a wavelength that powerful with somebody, and that's what I was so lucky to find with Steve with Hunger."
