Fey and Poehler to play sisters

Amy Poehler is in talks to join Tina Fey in new comedy The Nest.

The friends - who hosted the Golden Globes awards ceremony together earlier this year - would play sisters in the film about two 30-something sisters who spend a wild weekend together at their parents' home before it is sold.

Showbiz 411 reported Amy is in final negotiations to co-star and co-produce with Tina, who is producing through her Little Stranger Inc company.

Pitch Perfect's Jason Moore will direct the movie, which is based on an original idea from debut screenplay writer Paula Pell.

Tina and Amy have previously both appeared in 2004′s Mean Girls and 2008′s Baby Mama. They also worked together on Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2006.

Pell was an executive producer on Universal comedy This Is 40 and is a writer for Saturday Night Live.
