Fichtner to take on The Lone Ranger

Armie Hammer is playing the lead role in The Lone Ranger

William Fichtner is preparing to pull on his cowboy boots, after it was reported that he is to play the lead baddie opposite Armie Hammer in Disney's blockbuster The Lone Ranger.

William, who has starred in big name films Crash and The Dark Knight, has snapped up the role vacated by singer and actor Dwight Yoakam who dropped out recently because of a scheduling conflict, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The new film, starring Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp as the titular hero and his sidekick Tonto, sees a masked cowboy wage war against the bad guys in frontier America. Ruth Wilson, star of BBC One's Luther, is also due to saddle up for the film.

Director Gore Verbinski's latest film has ridden a rocky road to completion, after a dispute over budgetary matters saw the project put on hold last year before receiving the green light in late 2011.

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
