Firth in talks to go into Trance?

Colin Firth could be working alongside director Danny Boyle

Colin Firth is reportedly in talks to appear in Danny Boyle's Trance.

The Oscar-winning star and Scarlett Johansson have apparently joined discussions to have major supporting roles in the upcoming gritty thriller.

Twitchfilm.com claims that the duo have emerged as Danny's favoured picks for the roles of Aiden - a part which had previously been linked to Michael Fassbender - and Elizabeth.

Zoe Saldana and Melanie Thierry are also said to be in the running for the character of Elizabeth.

Scottish actor James McAvoy is also in discussions to star in Danny's next film, which is due to start production in September.

Trance, scheduled for release in 2013, would tell the story of an auction house assistant who masterminds a heist, but things don't go according to plan.
