Fletcher 'leaves Queen biopic'

Dexter Fletcher has reportedly dropped out of the Freddie Mercury film.

The filmmaker was due to direct Ben Whishaw in the Queen biopic but apparently left the project because of creative differences with producer Graham King of GK Films.

Deadline reported that the two "didn't see eye to eye" on the film.

Movie bosses are now looking for another director to take over.

Ben will play the band's flamboyant frontman Freddie Mercury in the as-yet-untitled film, having stepped in after Sacha Baron Cohen dropped out.

The film will tell the story of Queen's rise to fame, culminating in them headlining Live Aid in 1985, and will feature some of the band's hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions.
