Fonda to star in bullying film

Peter Fonda will play a grandfather in the Milton's Secret adaptation

Peter Fonda is to star in a film adaptation of the children's book Milton's Secret.

The Easy Rider actor is taking a more sedate role than in his best known film, appearing as the main character's grandfather.

Peter, 73, has been signed up to the film adaptation according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Two-time Oscar nominee Peter has been cast as the grandfather of Milton, a young boy dealing with being bullied at school.

Children's book Milton's Secret was written by Eckhart Tolle and Robert Friedman.

Eckhart is a writer and speaker on the subject of living in the present to overcome fear and in Milton's Secret he adapted his message for children through a story.

The production will begin filming in Vancouver this summer.

Peter, brother of Jane Fonda, also has several other films in production including horror flick The Harvest and Civil War drama Copperhead.

His recent films have included The Trouble With Bliss and Harodim.
