Ford gets zombie action thrills

Alan Ford fights the walking dead in Cockneys Vs Zombies

Alan Ford has revealed he had to up his exercise regime to star in Cockneys Vs Zombies.

The 77-year-old actor gets to fight the walking dead alongside Honor Blackman and Michelle Ryan in the black comedy.

"We had a great time making it, though it wasn't easy because we were up very early every day and a lot of athletics. A lot of running about," he said.

"I must have shot about 400 zombies and had about four fist fights. The finished product is very, very funny."

Alan - who has also appeared in Snatch and The Sweeney with Ray Winstone and Ben Drew (aka rapper Plan B) - enjoyed shooting it.

"It's a very funny film. I was offered it early last year, I loved the script and I loved the rest of the cast, so of course I said yes. It's a great part for me and it's full of fun," he said.

The actor admitted that his favourite role has been as Bricktop in Guy Ritchie's Snatch.

"That was one of those parts that only come along once in a lifetime. And once I knew it was mine I gave it my all. A great part to have and it's done me a lot of good over the years."

Cockneys Vs Zombies and The Sweeney are both in cinemas now.

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
