Fox makes a killing with new role
Matthew Fox is to play an assassin in the film version of I, Alex Cross.
The Lost star, who is currently starring in West End play In A Forest, Dark And Deep, will portray super-villain Michael Sullivan, who kills both for money and thrills and is known as the Butcher of Sligo.
Tyler Perry is taking over from Morgan Freeman to be detective Alex Cross, with Ed Burns as his partner Tommy Kane in the big-screen adaptation of James Patterson's novel, reported Deadline.com.
In I, Alex Cross, Matthew's character - one of the best known baddies in the novels - and the detective try to hunt each other down after the murderer kills Alex's wife.
The Fast And The Furious director Rob Cohen will be taking the reins for the franchise reboot.
Freeman previously played detective Alex in Kiss The Girls and Along Came A Spider.
