Frances Fisher joins Woman In Gold

Frances Fisher is joining Dame Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds in drama Woman In Gold.

The film is based on the true story of Jewish woman Maria Altmann (Mirren) who, years after fleeing Austria in World War II, embarks on a legal battle to try and retrieve her family possessions stolen by the Nazis, including Klimt's famous painting The Lady In Gold.

Deadline reported that Resurrection star Frances will play the mother of Ryan's character, who is lawyer to Maria Altmann.

The cast also includes Katie Holmes, Charles Dance, Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern, Rush's Daniel Bruhl, Max Irons and Jonathan Pryce.

Woman In Gold is being directed by Elizabeth McGovern's husband Simon Curtis, and will see him reteam with The Weinstein Company and BBC Films, who he worked with on My Week With Marilyn.

Filming has begun and will take place on location in the UK, Austria and the US.
