James Franco will star alongside Jason Statham in Sylvester Stallone's action thriller Homefront.
The movie - which has been scripted by Sly - follows an ex-drug enforcement agent (played by Statham) who relocates his family to a quiet town, only to find it overrun with violence and a drugs magnate (Franco), Variety reported.
Executive producer Avi Lerner said: "I cannot think of a better group to put this film on the big screen. Sly's script is fantastic, James and Jason are remarkable actors and Gary (Fleder) really knows how direct this type of film."
Production will kick off at the end of September in New Orleans.
Sly and Jason next appear together in The Expendables 2.
Meanwhile, James will soon be seen on screen as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in Lovelace.
