She’s been trying to escape the paparazzi all week as speculation intensifies over her relationship with footballer Frank Lampard.

And last night Christine Bleakley was still wriggling amid the media attention — while being trapped in the “stocks of shame”.

The Co Down beauty was back in Belfast yesterday to help raise money for the BBC’s Children In Need appeal.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph Christine admitted she got on well with Lampard, but said that she had not even spent time with him alone.

And she insisted that she was not looking for “anything romantic” right now.

“We haven’t been out together just the two of us,” she said.

“He’s a nice guy and we get on well but I am not looking for|anything romantic at all at the moment.”

The comments are unlikely to quell the media speculation about the celebrity pair.

Christine was in the stocks at the city centre’s continental market for a One Show contribution towards Children In Need.

Along with her co-presenter on the show Adrian Chiles, she faced a public vote to decide which one would face being splattered by sponges.

While Adrian braved the downpours in Swansea, Christine waited patiently in the rain to hear if the viewers had voted to give her a soaking. But she was less reluctant to talk about her fledging romance with the Chelsea and England midfielder.

Earlier this week the couple -- and a friend of Lampard’s -- were spotted having lunch at a pub a short walk from 31-year-old footballer’s Chelsea home.

On Saturday at 2am she was photographed leaving his home accompanied by one of his close friends.

Rumours of a romance began to circulate after the football star and Christine were spotted together at London nightclub Amika two weeks ago.

Since the weekend though, interest in the celebrity pair has intensified with Christine remaining coy about the relationship.

Meanwhile, a number of big name pop acts will be at the King’s Hall in Belfast tonight for a special Children in Need concert.

Among the artists taking part are Ronan Keating, Sinead Quinn and the Heartbreakers and Ash.
