Galifianakis gets Hollywood gong

Zach Galifianakis is to be presented with an award in Beverly Hills

Zach Galifianakis is to receive a special gong at the Hollywood Awards.

The Hangover star, who will bring his new film It's Kind Of A Funny Story to the London Film Festival, will be presented with the comedy actor award at the ceremony in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, said the Hollywood Reporter.

Jennifer Lawrence, who has been praised for her turn in Winter's Bone, will be recognised with the New Hollywood gong.

The duo join previously announced honorees Sylvester Stallone (career achievement), Morgan Freeman (innovator), Annette Bening (actress), Robert Duvall (actor) and Sean Penn (humanitarian).

Helena Bonham Carter is to be presented with the supporting actress award, and Sam Rockwell supporting actor.

Other recipients include Danny Boyle (producer), Andrew Garfield (breakthrough actor), and Mia Wasikowska (breakthrough actress).

The awards ceremony takes place on October 25 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
