Game of Thrones: Iconic Iron Throne coming to Belfast's CastleCourt
Fans of Game of Thrones will have the chance to sit on the iconic Iron Throne next month when it arrives at CastleCourt in Belfast.
The 'Iron Throne Experience' is licensed by showrunners HBO and displays limited replicas of prominent features from the show.
Organisers say the exhibition gives Game of Thrones fans the chance to rule like a King or Queen of Westeros, if only for a few moments.
The Iron Throne will be at CastleCourt Shopping centre from June, 1-4. Tickets are £10 and includes seated professional photos.
Also on display will be replicas of the Crown of Joffrey Baratheon, Dragon eggs and swords Ice, Longclaw, Needle, Oathkeeper and Jaime Lannister.
Camila McCourt, Marketing Manager at CastleCourt Said: "In Game of Thrones many people die in the battle to rule Westeros from the Iron Throne, but the people of the North don’t need to lose their heads to sit the Iron Throne."
In the land of Westeros, the throne was constructed by Aegon I Targaryen, the first king of the Seven Kingdoms. He made it from the swords surrendered by his enemies.
Legend has it, it’s made of a thousand swords that took 59 days to hammer out into a throne. Spikes and jagged edges in every direction make this one very intimidating lounge.
Game of Thrones is partly filmed in Northern Ireland and is set to return for its seventh series in July.
