Gary Oldman joins next Apes movie

Gary Oldman is to star in the latest Planet of the Apes film

Gary Oldman is set to fight the ape rebellion in the next Planet Of The Apes movie.

The Batman star has joined the cast of Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes as the leader of a human colony, reports ComingSoon.net.

He joins Andy Serkis, who is set to reprise the role of Caesar in the flick.

Kodi Smit-McPhee and Jason Clarke are also thought to be among the cast.

The latest film is set 15 years after the events of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, with most of humanity wiped out and the apes ruling the world.

The film is expected to be released in 2014.
