Gary Oldman: Next Batman's terrific

Gary Oldman thinks fans will like the next Batman

Christopher Nolan has come up with the goods for The Dark Knight Rises, Gary Oldman has said.

The actor - who received the Empire Icon at the Jameson Empire Awards - is to reprise his role as Commissioner Jim Gordon in the filmmaker's third Batman outing, which will star Christian Bale in the title role, and reckons fans will be pleased with it.

"I can't say anything really, except that it's a really great story - it's a terrific story. When you thought that he couldn't top himself, he's come up with a good one," he said.

Gary, who will next be seen in Red Riding Hood and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part Two, didn't divulge too many details about his part in the forthcoming film either, saying: "I am back. They are revamping the role of Commissioner Gordon."

But he did gush over Christopher, who also directed Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

"I love Chris Nolan. He is lovely to work with and very sweet. He's very calm on set, knows exactly what he wants," he said.
