Sarah Michelle Gellar has said she thinks she is too old to make another Buffy The Vampire Slayer film, and that the first one wasn't much good anyway.

The actress played Buffy in the TV series from 1997 to 2003 which was based on a 1992 film of the same name, although Kristy Swanson played the lead on the big screen.

When Access Hollywood asked if she had been tempted to make a Buffy film after Kristen Bell's return to TV role Veronica Mars on the big screen, Sarah said: "Buffy was [already] a movie. See, I think people forget that. Buffy was a movie first, and I don't know if you guys know this, but it didn't really work!

"I see you laughing at me over there, but it kind of didn't work. We spent our whole first year or two apologising for the movie. So, I think it would be an incredibly different pressure."

Sarah added: "Plus, I'm a little old now. I feel like Buffy would have a wooden stake walker. I'm not quite sure how that would work."

But despite thinking a Buffy movie is a no-go, Sarah said she was hoping for success for Kristen's Veronica Mars movie.

She said: "[I'm] so excited for Kristen. She worked so hard and she works tirelessly at what she does and I'm incredibly excited for her."
