Gerard Butler enters Den Of Thieves

Gerard Butler has found a new heist drama after joining Den Of Thieves.

The Scottish star recently pulled out of playing bank robber and thrill seeker Bodhi in the Point Break remake, reportedly just a month before shooting was due to start.

But instead he has joined the thriller about a legendary bank heist crew who plot to rob the Federal Reserve in Los Angeles right under the nose of a rogue sheriff's deputy, Variety reported.

Writer Christian Gudegast, who penned Gerard's upcoming action sequel London Has Fallen, is set to direct from his own script, co-written with Paul Scheuring.

Gerard is among the producers on the project.

The 300 star reportedly pulled out of Point Break as the filming schedule clashed with the Olympus Has Fallen sequel, on which he is also a producer.
