Gervais in Night At The Museum 3

Ricky Gervais has signed up for Night At The Museum 3

Ricky Gervais is returning for the third Night At The Museum movie.

The British star will reprise the role of museum director Dr McPhee, reported Deadline.

He played the character in the first two films in the franchise, which were released in 2006 and 2009.

Ricky, 52, joins Robin Williams and Ben Stiller in the film. The Hollywood stars are reprising the roles of Teddy Roosevelt and security guard Larry Daley.

The third instalment will be set in London although plot details have not been revealed.

Shawn Levy is returning to direct Night At The Museum 3, which is expected to be released around Christmas 2014.
