Glee, Bullock lead Choice nods

Glee could be set to win big when the People's Choice Awards are announced in the new year, while Sandra Bullock tops the list of film candidates.

The hit show leads the list of TV nominees with eight nods, including Favourite Network TV Comedy, as well as four acting nominations for the cast including Lea Michele and Jane Lynch.

Sandra Bullock tops the list of movie nominees with recognition in five categories; Favourite Actress, Favourite Comedic Actress, Favourite Dramatic Actress and two for Favourite Duo, one with George Clooney in Gravity and the other with Melissa McCarthy in The Heat.

Some of the biggest box office hits of the past twelve months will battle it out for the honour of Favourite Movie, with Despicable Me 2, Fast And Furious 6, Iron Man 3, Monsters University and Star Trek Into Darkness all in the running.

Hollywood heartthrobs Channing Tatum, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Downey Jr will compete for the title of Favourite Movie Actor, while Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Melissa McCarthy, Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson will face off for Favourite Movie Actress.

Katy Perry is the front runner in the music categories with five nominations for favourite female artist, favourite pop artist, favourite song and favourite music video for Roar, and favourite fan following.

The 40th annual awards show will be hosted by 2 Broke Girls stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs on January 8, 2014.
