Northern Ireland's new Glee star Damian McGinty has hinted he may team up with fellow US-based Londonderry singer Nadine Coyle in future.

The duo were singing each other's praises and exchanging virtual kisses on Twitter recently following Damian's triumph in the televised US competition The Glee Project.

Damian (18), is now set for global stardom after landing a plum part in the third series of Glee - one of the world's most watched TV shows.

Damian was flat hunting in Los Angeles this week, where Girls Aloud star Nadine had been based since moving to the US with her family three years ago.

However, Nadine (26), has now relocated to New York City where she is enjoying something of a renaissance following a mediocre start to her solo career, with US fans now giving her the new nickname 'Nadiva'.

After Damian won The Glee Project a week ago, Nadine Tweeted this week: "I am so proud of another Derry person doing so well. Damian McGinty won the Glee Project. I loved you on the show. Congratulations! Xx"

Damian replied: "Thanks Nadine :) love your work too... incredible voice!! Maybe our paths will cross someday :) x"

He further described his life since winning The Glee Project as "incredible".

"What a time I am having. I love LA. I love life. Meetings with big labels/producers... can this get better? I am blessed and very lucky.

"Went apartment viewing today, and it was amazing! Super excited."

Damian was whisked off to a hotel by the beach last week, but has kept in constant touch with his swelling base of transatlantic fans via online updates.

Damian hasn't forgotten those who helped him brush up on his acting and performance skills back home, including his former performing arts teacher back home in Derry.

Providing a link to the North West Regional College's Performing Arts Facebook page, he tweeted: "These guys are incredible... Anne McMaster... you're a star!!"

Damian is now set to begin filming with the cast of Glee this week.

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
