Selena Gomez has signed on to star in William H Macy's Rudderless.
The US Shameless star will make his debut as a director with the musical drama about a father who decides to form a band after finding his dead son's songs, in the hope that it will help his grieving process.
Selena is among the latest additions to the cast, alongside William's wife Felicity Huffman, Laurence Fishburne, Billy Crudup and Anton Yelchin, reported Deadline.
The former Wizards Of Waverly Place actress is thrilled for the upcoming role, tweeting: "So excited to be joining this film."
Production on Rudderless, which has been written by William, Casey Twenter and Jeff Robison, will begin in Oklahoma in April.
The 20-year-old actress will next be seen in Spring Breakers with fellow former Disney star Vanessa Hudgens and James Franco.
