Insiders claim Marvel has narrowed it down to Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Paul Rudd to star as Ant-Man in Edgar Wright's new film.
The two actors have been named as the frontrunners to play Ant-Man in the new Marvel movie.
British filmmaker Edgar Wright will direct the comic book film and has been working on the script with Attack The Block's Joe Cornish for the past few years.
Sources have told Variety that The Dark Knight Rises star Joseph and funnyman Paul are currently the main contenders for the superhero role.
Marvel recently moved forward the release date for Ant-Man to July 31, 2015 and Edgar tweeted a pre-production picture of Ant-Man, sparking speculation casting is under way.
The director of The World's End and Hot Fuzz is thought to want more of a witty, everyman character to play the superhero, rather than an action hunk.
According to insiders, Jospeh and Paul are expected to meet with Marvel executives and Edgar one more time before a decision is made, although there is said to be an outside chance that another actor could still be added to the mix.
Ant-Man is the alter ego of Henry Pym, a scientific genius who invented a substance that allowed him to change his size.
