Greengrass/Damon not Bourne again

Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are not currently in negotiations to make another Bourne movie, Universal studios have insisted.

The 42-year-old action star has previously said he would only consider reprising his role as agent Jason Bourne if director Paul Greengrass returned to direct.

Twitch Film claimed that the studio was in simultaneous negotiations with both Matt and Paul to return to the Bourne franchise.

But Universal insiders told Variety there is "no truth" in the rumours.

The studio recently hired scriptwriter Anthony Peckham - whose work includes Don't Say A Word and Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes - to pen the next Bourne movie, starring Jeremy Renner.

The Hurt Locker star took over from Matt Damon as the star of the franchise, playing new lead character Aaron Cross in The Bourne Legacy last year.
