Rupert Grint and Chloe Grace Moretz have reportedly joined the Dennis Wilson biopic, The Drummer.

The Harry Potter star and the Hugo actress are the latest additions to the cast list in Randy Miller's forthcoming film, according to Variety.

Rupert - most recognised for playing Harry's best friend Ron Weasley - is said to be playing a post-room intern who befriended the Beach Boys musician in the last few years of his life, while Chloe is in talks to play Dennis' daughter Jennifer.

Aaron Eckhart is already on board to portray the late drummer, who died in 1983 at the age of 39, with Vera Farmiga as Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter Christine McVie, who had a tempestuous romance with Dennis.

Filming is due to kick off in June.

The film will focus on the the final six years of the tragically troubled musician's life, who was friends with Charles Manson and battled an alcohol addiction, while releasing one critically acclaimed solo album Pacific Ocean Blue, which has since become a cult favourite.

Rupert, who is tipped to portray British skier Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards in a biopic, will next be seen in anti-war film Into The White. He will also reportedly voice a character in the movie adaptation of Postman Pat.

Chloe will next share screen time with Johnny Depp, Eva Green and Michelle Pfeiffer in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows.
