Gruffudd to fight Home Invasion

Ioan Gruffudd has signed up to star in upcoming thriller Home Invasion.

The Fantastic Four star will play a husband and father-of-two in the film, with Death Race actress Natalie Martinez as his wife, said The Hollywood Reporter.

The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs and Disney actress Bella Thorne are on board to portray their children.

Home Invasion, which will be directed by Sean Carter from Joseph Dembner's script, will focus on the family, who find themselves held hostage in their own home by intruders playing a life-and-death game.

Welsh-born Ioan, who played physicist Doctor Reed Richards and his alter-ego Mister Fantastic in the Fantastic Four movies, recently appeared on TV shows Glee and Castle.

The 40-year-old became a father for the second time when his actress wife Alice Evans gave birth to their second daughter, Elsie Marigold, in September.

Chandler, who plays Andrew Lincoln's son on zombie show The Walking Dead, has wrapped the supernatural indie Mercy, adapted from a Stephen King story.
