Gyllenhaal to play his own enemy
Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star opposite himself in new thriller An Enemy.
The Brokeback Mountain star would play a dysfunctional history teacher who accidentally discovers his exact double on a rented film, and decides to track him down, causing havoc to both their lives.
Jake will play both roles in the "dark and edgy" indie film, Variety reports.
Canadian director Denis Villeneuve is on board to direct the film, based on the novel The Double by Jose Saramago.
Jake just finished filming gritty cop drama End Of Watch, and had been in talks to star in revenge thriller Motor City, but dropped out of the project, leaving the role open for Jeremy Renner.
Denis is also set to direct Hugh Jackman in Prisoners, but as the Wolverine star is busy filming music Les Miserables, he is expected to shoot An Enemy first.
