Halle Berry has said she doesn't think she will ever make another film like Cloud Atlas.
The Oscar-winning actress and co-stars Tom Hanks, Hugo Weaving, Jim Broadbent, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Jim Sturgess, Ben Whishaw and Doona Ba play multiple roles in the film set in different locations and time periods, and she admitted it was quite a challenge.
Halle said: "Well any time you play six characters, two of them being a man, and one of them is a white Jewish German woman - I think I get challenged on all different levels and all my cylinders were firing on this one. It was fun to go to work everyday."
She added: "Probably I will never shoot anything like this ever again, I'm sure of that."
The movie - which has premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival - was co-directed by siblings Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer.
Tom Hanks said at the festival: "It's Tom and Andy and Lana - they're really out on the line. I'm just an actor for hire on this but I don't want to let Mom and Dad down."
But Lana said: "The real courage that this film demanded was from the actors. There are very few movies that ask as much as we asked of the actors."
Tom's characters in the adaptation of David Mitchell's novel range from a greedy 19th century doctor combing a beach for human teeth discarded by cannibals, to a contemporary British thug-turned-author to a simple tribesman learning the dark truth of human history centuries from now.
Halle's roles include a journalist uncovering a nuclear power conspiracy, an elderly composer's adulterous wife and a woman leading the remnants of earth-bound humanity to a new home.
