Hardy: Son wants to see Dark Knight

Tom Hardy revealed his four-year-old wants to watch The Dark Knight Rises

Tom Hardy has revealed his young son is dying to see The Dark Knight Rises.

The British star plays crazed villain Bane in the final instalment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, but his four-year-old son Louis will have to wait a while until he can watch his dad in action.

When asked about the movie's 12A rating, he said: "I wish my son could see it. He can't - he's four and he's really miserable."

Details of the storyline were kept tightly under wraps ahead of the release, but Tom admitted it could prove difficult to keep the plot twists a secret now the movie is out.

"I'm not going to give away any spoilers, I'm not allowed to and that's the way it is," he said.

He added of bulking up as Bane: "I pushed a lot of floor, I pushed a lot of weights, I ate a lot and I didn't do any cardio for about a year. I ended up being really fat and now I'm suffering the consequences."
