Hardy's Child 44 gets release date

Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace's political thriller Child 44 is set to hit cinemas in April 2015.

The murder-mystery is set in 1950s Stalinist Russia and also stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Paddy Considine and Vincent Cassel.

According to The Wrap, Summit Entertainment has given the film a release date of April 17, 2015.

Child 44 follows a member of the Soviet Union police, played by Tom, who is framed for treason and sent into exile, where he begins to investigate a series of child murders connected to high-up members of a political party.

The film, adapted from the Tom Rob Smith best-selling novel of the same name, is directed by Daniel Espinosa.
