Hathaway tunes up for Les Mis?
Anne Hathaway is apparently considering playing Fantine in the Les Miserables film.
The One Day star is said to be "set to take on the role" in Tom Hooper's forthcoming big-screen adaptation of the famous musical, following Hugh Jackman's recommendation after she belted out On My Own at this year's Oscar ceremony, reported Broadway World.
The actress, who is currently filming Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises in which she plays Catwoman, is in the running alongside Amy Adams and Rebecca Hall.
Anne's fellow Oscars host Hugh, is tipped to portray reformed prisoner Jean Valjean, while Russell Crowe is up for the part of Inspector Javert.
Geoffrey Rush could be cast as drunken pub owner Thenardier, with Helena Bonham Carter as his screen wife Madame Thenardier, and Emma Watson, Hayden Panettiere, Miranda Cosgrove and Lucy Hale are reportedly vying for the roles of Eponine and Cosette, according to Itsonthegrid.com.
Les Miserables is expected to start filming in the UK in February 2012.
