Helen Hunt has insisted her excitement about new movie The Sessions far outweighed her qualms about stripping off for the role.
The 49-year-old actress stars alongside John Hawkes as a 'sex surrogate' hired by a man crippled by polio, who wants to lose his virginity.
Speaking at a screening of the film in Los Angeles, Helen explained: "My excitement about the part was bigger than my nerves, so I did it."
"We decided I should be naked five minutes after coming on the screen so people could either get past that, or leave, or whatever."
The star, who won a Best Actress Oscar in 1997 for her role in As Good As It Gets, said she and co-star Hawkes deliberately avoided getting to know one another before shooting on The Sessions began.
"We'd met each other but we never really rehearsed, we talked a little bit and then got to capitalise on the fact that we didn't know each other," she said.
"We were vulnerable, and strangers, exactly like in the movie."
