Hemsworth owes movie career to soap
Former Home And Away star Chris Hemsworth has said he owes his movie star career to being in Home And Away.
The actor, who played Kim Hyde for three years in the Aussie soap, stars in Thor: The Dark World alongside Natalie Portman, but hasn't forgotten his TV roots.
According to Digital Spy, he told Nova FM: "I loved Home And Away and I credit everything I do to it. I was 19 when I started working on that show. I had such a great time."
Chris's love for soap was put to the test unexpectedly when the radio show received a call with a question for him.
A listener called 'Kate' rang in to ask: "I know these days you get to work with people like Natalie Portman but back in your Home And Away days, who was the woman you just adored working with and would swap Natalie Portman with any day?"
Working out that it was a former co-star calling, Chris answered: "I would have to say Kate Ritchie. Not only is she the most talented, but the most stunning woman."
