Jonah Hill is set to team up with James Franco for new film True Story.
The movie, based on a memoir by US journalist Michael Finkel, would be co-produced by Brad Pitt, who worked with Jonah on the Oscar-nominated hit Moneyball.
Deadline reports that Jonah would play Finkel, who was a writer at The New York Times Magazine in 2002 when he learned fugitive Christian Longo had been captured in Mexico and had been living under the journalist's identity.
Longo (who will be played by Franco) declared that the real Finkel was the only journalist he would talk to, leading to an unusual relationship between the pair.
The role will give Superbad star Jonah another chance to veer away from his funnyman persona, after achieving critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination for his role in baseball drama Moneyball.
Brad and Dede Gardner's Plan B company is producing.
