Forget the walk of shame - Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield have created the broadcast of shame.

The ITV This Morning presenters turned up to work this morning still in their formal wear fresh - or rather not so fresh - from attending the National Television Awards Ceremony the evening before.

Phillip and Holly present the morning after the NTAs

Probably our most memorable start to a show yet! Er, what's that down your dress, Holly?

Before they appeared a series of tweets indicated that the normally bright and chirpy presenters were feeling a little tired from the night before.

It began when Phillip Schofield tweeted: "Oh no!! Overslept by an hour and a half!!!" before tweeting a picture of an energy drink and painkillers.

The official ITV This Morning account then tweeted a photo of Holly Willoughby sprawled on the sofa still in her outfit from the night before.

It appeared the pair had been celebrating as they won the Live Magazine Show category.

But the slightly dishevelled duo revealed to the camera that they hadn't been home yet.

Holly said: "Should we be honest?

"I haven't been home yet. We came straight here.

"I'm covering up mint sauce on my dress, I love this dress.

"This is a lovely dress, but can you see the yellow stains"

They laughed as Phillip said: "We're in a mess.

"'We can only apologise. We celebrated on behalf of each and every one of you.

Like a monstrous hangover after a great night out, this has just surfaced...

'Neither of us should be on television.'

However the pair later changed in to fresh outfits to present the rest of the show.

Although, the duo appear to have been upstaged as on Friday's presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford tweeted themselves having a quick nap before the show - claiming they had been partying for 36 hours.

Eamonn said: "Think those two were Heavy Duty yesterday ? Ruth and me 36 hr Party People on ITV This Morning 10.30 #NTAs "

Ruth joined in on the fun tweeting: "36 hrs of partying after the NTA's takes it's toll even on the most hardcore presenters like me & Eamonn Holmes."
