Hoult: I did no driving in Mad Max

Nicholas Hoult admitted he didn't want to do the driving in the Mad Max film

Nicholas Hoult has confessed he didn't do any of his own driving in Mad Max: Fury Road.

The Jack The Giant Slayer star plays a driver called Nux in George Miller's fourth instalment of the series, starring Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy as Max.

The films are set in a post-apocalyptic world where fuel is currency and motorcycle gangs cause terror, but Nicholas admitted he was too scared to do any of the driving himself.

He revealed: "I got to ride a bike at one point, but the driving was so technical and there were so many vehicles going around.

"At first I was like 'I can drive! I can drive!' I drove my own car in practice, so I would know what it would be like and so I could handle it, but not to the level of the stunt guys.

"And I wouldn't have wanted to do it! I would have messed it up. I would have hurt someone."

Nicholas added: "The scale of the movie is massive, and to be any part of that is a treat. The things that I saw happening on set, stunt-wise and visually were phenomenal, and George Miller was really a treat to work with."

:: Nicholas Hoult stars in Jack The Giant Slayer, which opens in cinemas on Friday March 22.

Aries:

You will have to defer to others, which makes you anxious. There's never any problem when you're in control. You know how to act quickly and decisively. When others are at the helm, progress grinds to a halt. People deliberate endlessly over simple matters. Instead of putting pressure on the person in charge, make a strategic retreat. If you act like you don't care about the outcome of a situation, they won't be paralysed with uncertainty. You have a tendency to make people nervous.More
