Vanessa Hudgens has insisted she's proud to be called a "bad a**" after starring in R-rated movie Spring Breakers.

The 24-year-old actress - who found fame in Disney's High School Musical TV movie franchise - stars alongside Ashley Benson, Selena Gomez and James Franco in the film about a group of girls who rob a diner to fund a wild holiday, and contains scenes of drug-taking, violence and sex.

Vanessa said: "I'm growing up, the fans are growing up. I mean, I'm 24 now and I'm a young woman and I want to push myself and grow as an actress and this movie allowed me to do that. I'm so proud of what we did. And if people want to call me a bad a** that's awesome."

But the Sucker Punch star denies she is anything like her crazy character.

"I speak for myself when I say I'd rather sit at home, take a bath, light candles and read a book, than go out to a club," admitted Vanessa.

:: Spring Breakers is in cinemas now.

Sagittarius:

Expressing your creative side is strongly advised. Take this opportunity to write, paint or play music. Relatives may not appreciate your work, but that doesn't matter. The important thing is to satisfy your own taste. People who are daring and experimental will appreciate your efforts. Don't be surprised if you're given a chance to showcase your work in a magazine, boutique or gallery. Fame and acclaim can be yours, so long as you're willing to follow your instincts.More
