Hudgens: Journey was a good workout

Vanessa Hudgens stars alongside Josh Hutcherson and Kristin Davis in the film

Vanessa Hudgens has joked that working on new action adventure movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island had been a great workout for her.

The High School Musical star showed off her figure in a backless, yellow Grecian gown as she walked the red carpet at the film's Los Angeles premiere with boyfriend Austin Butler.

Vanessa said: "It's good to keep your cardio up when you're running around all day, but nothing too crazy.

"You just show up to work and get put in these crazy scenarios and know you have a good stunt team behind you and you just kind of go for it."

Journey 2 - which also stars Josh Hutcherson, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Kristin Davis and Sir Michael Caine - tells the tale of a boy who teams up with his mother's partner to track down his lost grandfather on a mysterious island.

Vanessa will be keeping up the action as she revealed her next film project is going to be "crazy" and "violent".

The 23-year-old actress is set to appear alongside Selena Gomez, James Franco and Emma Roberts in Spring Breakers, which follows a group of four college students-turned-wannabe restaurant robbers.

Vanessa said: "I'm really excited. It's my spring break experience and it's Harmony Korine's take on it, so it's going to be way crazy, extremely out there and very violent. It'll be fun."
