Kate Hudson is to lead a star-studded cast in Mira Nair's upcoming film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist.
Four Lions star Riz Ahmed, Liev Schreiber and Kiefer Sutherland also appear in the big-screen adaptation of Mohsin Hamid's novel, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Riz will star as Changez, a young Pakistani chasing corporate success on Wall Street but finds that his attitude changes following the tragedy of 9/11.
There are no details about the other roles as yet.
The drama, which is being financially supported by the Doha Film Institute, is set to start shooting in coming weeks in Atlanta, New York, Lahore, Delhi and Istanbul.
"My father lived in Lahore before the partition of India and Pakistan. I am inspired to make a contemporary film about Pakistan, especially in this day and age when the perceived schism between Islamists and the Western World becomes more pronounced each day," explained Mira.
"In the Doha Film Institute, I have a like-minded partner who shares a common belief in this story and its ability to affect change, having supported this project from the very beginning. In this day and age to have creative freedom to make a film that is political, timely and multi layered is a gift."
