Idris Elba has said it is important to showcase Britain in British films.

The London-born actor - who starred in hit US TV show The Wire and now in award winning BBC show Luther - was a producer for new British horror film Demons Never Die, and said it was important that London was a big part of the film.

Idris said: "It's important that we see where we're from in films.

"We've got such a charismatic city it's important that we see it in the backdrop.

"In Luther London is a big character and in Demons as well. I think it plays a big part."

The actor and DJ helped his director friend Arjun Rose get an all-star soundtrack for the film including Jessie J, Dionne Bromfield and Tinchy Stryder.

Idris has recently finished filming space thriller Pomretheus, co-starring Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace, and directed by Ridley Scott.

He said: "It was brilliant. I love Ridley Scott. He's my godfather now."

An important executive or critic will be impressed by your efforts. If you're offered an unpaid position as an intern or apprentice, take it.
