Idris Elba would like to show more of Heimdall's background in the Thor sequel.
The British actor confirmed that he will reprise his role as the Asgard gatekeeper in Thor 2, alongside Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman.
"Yes I am. I'm definitely going to do my man in a suit film," he said to Collider.com.
Idris said the writers should explore more of his character's back story.
"I'd just like to get to know him a bit more. Who is Heimdall? He guards the gate. Is there anything else?" he continued.
"I don't know what is in the script because I haven't read it yet. But, the audience has responded to Asgard and wants to know more about who lives there and what it's about. I'm sure, if they do that, Heimdall will be featured more."
Idris - who will next appear in Ridley Scott's Prometheus and Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim - joked that film sets have become his second home.
"My schedule is so packed this year, to the point where I really don't have an address any more. I'm going to be living on film sets for the next year," he said.
"I literally moved out of a place and was not going to get a new one. My schedule is really packed, but I'm going to do Thor after I play [Nelson] Mandela."
