I’m a Celebrity: Nicola's nightmare in the jungle
Claustrophobic glamour model Nicola McLean faced her worst nightmare in the jungle, braving rats, spiders, mealworms and cockroaches in a pitch black cave.
Before entering the so-called Cavern of Calamity for the latest Bushtucker Trial, the buxom blonde said: “I’m so petrified, I could cry. This show is turning me into a nervous wreck, I could honestly cry.”
And with insects falling on her hair and shoulders, she added: “I’m really scared, oh God, this is horrendous, please God, this is really awful, my worst nightmare.”
The 25-year-old I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here contender only managed to find three stars, meaning three meals out of a possible 12 for her fellow celebrities.
But she said she was “buzzing” because her failure meant madcap comedian Timmy Mallet and singer David Van Day would be going hungry.
She added: “I couldn’t care less what the others say, sorry.”
Earlier, she blasted the pair for joking with her that her hair would get messy during the trial, telling them: “Don’t be d***s!”
On her way to the trial she said: “I’m petrified. I’m not busting my balls to feed two people that really rile me.”
Tensions have been running high since Timmy (53) and David (51) joined the camp.
Ex-Blue star Simon Webbe (30) waded into the row, accusing the pair of being snide.
Simon told David: “Let’s not pretend. You don’t like her.”
David told the Bush Telegraph he did not dislike Nicola, adding: “There is this misconception that I’ve got something against her, but she’s got this odd manner.” Former EastEnder Joe Swash stuck up for David, telling him: “You do a lot of things that annoy me, but so does everyone else. It’s b*******. All get on with your game man!”
Meanwhile, Timmy won the latest Bush Battle, Up To Your Neck In It, by outlasting Nicola and Robert Kilroy-Silk in a tank filling with cold gunk.
He now has immunity from eviction tomorrow night.
Nicola broke down in tears after her failure. She said she disliked Timmy so much she wanted to knock him out.
She said: “The Bush Battle was horrible, I hate being cold. Why am I here and why am I bothering? I’m absolutely freezing and I just don’t see the point, no-one else had to do that, it’s not why I came on the show.”
On return to camp Nicola complained how cold she was, asking former tennis champion Martina Navratilova, 52, to feel her boobs.
She said: "Feel my boobs, you can’t get them warm, even in summer they feel cold, feel it."
Martina said she would rather not but 68-year-old charity campaigner Esther Rantzen and 50-year-old former policeman Brian Paddick took turns.
