Into The Woods made Krasinski cry

John Krasinski shed tears when he saw musical Into The Woods, his wife Emily Blunt has revealed.

The British actress stars in Disney's big screen remake of the Broadway musical alongside James Corden, Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp.

"He cried. He absolutely loved it," she told E! News.

"I think he was so moved by it by what it's saying to this generation and that idea of nobody being alone at the end. It's such an amazing theme running through this film."

Directed by Rob Marshall, the film follows a childless couple - played by Emily and James - as they try to end a witch's curse. Meryl plays the Witch, Johnny portrays the Wolf, while Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine are Cinderella and Cinderella's Prince.

Emily said the movie will resonate with audiences beyond its music and star-studded cast.

"Yes it's a musical but it's not just a spectacle. It says some really profound things like be careful what you say to children. Children will listen," she explained.

Into The Woods will be released in UK cinemas on January 9, 2015.
