Irish animation firm in the BAFTA hunt for 'Roy'

An Irish animation company has been nominated for a prestigious children's BAFTA.

Jam Media has received the nod for Best Drama for its BBC1 series 'Roy', which is also aired on RTE. And the programme has been re-commissioned by the British broadcaster for a third series.

John Rice, chief executive of Jam Media, said that animation in Ireland was going through a "golden age at the moment".
