Iron Man 3 has been linked with a new director - Lethal Weapon creator Shane Black.
The US filmmaker, who made his name screenwriting action movies, has already worked with Iron Man's star Robert Downey Jr on 2005 flick Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
According to reports, if Black gets the directing job he could also write the draft of the third Iron Man instalment for Marvel Studios.
The Hollywood Reporter said that other filmmakers were also being looked at for Iron Man 3, set for release in 2013.
The directing job became vacant when Jon Favreau, who made the first two movies, announced he was leaving.
Black made his name writing the screenplay for Lethal Weapon before collaborating on its sequels.
He directed and wrote Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, based partly on the novel by Brett Halliday.
