Is Christine Bleakley on thin ice as ITV job talks loom?

Dancing on Ice co-host Christine Bleakley was all smiles as gymnast Beth Tweddle and partner Daniel Whiston were crowned Dancing on Ice champions on Sunday night.

But, according to reports, the Newtownards woman may now find her TV future has stalled like a mistimed triple axel.

Christine was poached by ITV from the BBC as part of a £4m, three-year deal that saw her join former One Show co-host Adrian Chiles on Daybreak. But the pair failed to turn around the fortunes of the breakfast show and Christine's performance on Dancing on Ice has also attracted brickbats.

Now, with that lucrative contract expiring in June, there is speculation that she may not be offered such a big deal again. One ITV insider said: "Christine is no longer the golden girl so a big new golden handcuffs deal is out of the question."

In 2008, Dancing on Ice, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, pulled in 11.7m viewers. This year audiences fell below 7m.

Still, Christine ended the run on a style high. Previously criticised for her frocks, Sunday night's long gown struck fashion gold.

An ITV spokesman said: "We are in discussion about future projects and hope to see her back on ITV soon."

Sagittarius:

Expressing your creative side is strongly advised. Take this opportunity to write, paint or play music. Relatives may not appreciate your work, but that doesn't matter. The important thing is to satisfy your own taste. People who are daring and experimental will appreciate your efforts. Don't be surprised if you're given a chance to showcase your work in a magazine, boutique or gallery. Fame and acclaim can be yours, so long as you're willing to follow your instincts.More
